We are expecting a sweet little girl any day now. It has been a very long and challenging pregnancy that I will share in later posts, along with medical information and advice from a fellow RN about bed rest, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and other fun pregnancy complications I have experienced first hand.
At 26 weeks, my doctors pulled me out of work and put me on strict bed rest due to my uncontrollable high blood pressure. I went from being the Director of Nursing at a busy nursing facility and working 50 plus hours a week… to nothing. At first, I pretended I was a 24 hour guest at a spa. I painted my toe nails, took bubble baths, read a few books, and played Candy Crush all day. After a few days though, I got bored. I found a few shows on Netflix to watch, but nothing that kept my interest for very long. Then I found this show on youtube and I have to share!!
This show has become my FAVORITE PREGNANCY BINGE WATCH!!
ONE BORN EVERY MINUTE is a documentary of some of the busiest maternity wards in the US and UK. Each episode follows the full labor and delivery of multiple families. The midwives and maternity ward staff are exceptional and give you a glimpse of what it’s like behind the scenes.
This show is real, raw, and unscripted.
If you are like me and research, plan, and prepare for everything..this show may be for you. It will prove that every labor story is different and nothing goes according to plan when it comes to labor and delivery. I have included the youtube trailer below, as well as the Lifetime link to the shows where you can also read about the different hospitals. I have found that it is easier to watch the full episodes on youtube, there are more seasons and episodes available. Let me know if you like it!
